Heal in Armenia is a digital platform designed to help international patients explore healthcare options in Armenia, create private medical cases, connect with participating healthcare providers, receive and compare treatment proposals, communicate with healthcare professionals, and coordinate aspects of their medical journey.

We recognize that information concerning your health is highly sensitive. Protecting your privacy and giving you meaningful control over how your information is shared are fundamental principles of our platform.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect personal information when you use healinarmenia.com, create an account, submit a medical case, communicate with healthcare providers, or otherwise use our services.

2. Important distinction: Heal in Armenia is a platform

Heal in Armenia facilitates connections and communications between patients and independent healthcare providers.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Heal in Armenia does not itself provide medical diagnosis, medical treatment, medical advice, or healthcare services.

Doctors, clinics, hospitals and other healthcare providers available through the platform are independent healthcare providers and remain responsible for their professional advice, diagnosis, treatment recommendations, medical services and patient relationships.

3. Information we may collect

Depending on how you use the platform, we may collect:

Account and identification information, including your name, email address, telephone number, country of residence, date of birth and account credentials.

Medical and health information, including your reason for seeking treatment, symptoms, medical history, previous treatments, medications, allergies, diagnoses, photographs, X-rays, scans, test results, reports, dental records and other documents that you choose to submit.

Treatment preferences, including preferred treatment, travel timing, budget information, preferred clinics or doctors and other information necessary to help participating healthcare providers understand your request.

Communications, including messages exchanged through the platform, enquiries submitted to us, support communications and communications with participating healthcare providers where the platform provides such functionality.

Technical information, including IP address, browser type, device information, operating system, pages visited, referring pages and website usage information.

We seek to collect only information reasonably necessary to operate the platform and provide the services requested by you.

4. Sensitive health information

Health information may receive special protection under applicable privacy laws.

By deliberately submitting health information through Heal in Armenia and providing any consent requested during the submission process, you authorize us to process that information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and to make it available to healthcare providers you select or otherwise expressly authorize, subject to applicable law.

Submitting a medical case does not mean that every healthcare provider on Heal in Armenia can automatically access your information.

Where the platform allows you to choose which healthcare providers receive your case, your information will be shared according to those choices.

5. How we use your information

We may use personal information to operate and secure the platform; create and administer your account; create and manage your medical case; allow authorized healthcare providers to review your case; facilitate treatment proposals and comparisons; facilitate communications and consultations; provide patient support; coordinate requested aspects of the patient journey; improve platform functionality and user experience; detect fraud, misuse or security threats; comply with applicable legal obligations; and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We will not use medical information for unrelated advertising purposes without an appropriate lawful basis or consent where required.

6. Sharing information with healthcare providers

One of Heal in Armenia’s core principles is patient control.

Where the platform provides clinic-selection functionality, you decide which participating healthcare providers may review your case.

Information may be shared with a selected provider so that the provider can assess your enquiry, request additional information, communicate with you and prepare a preliminary treatment proposal.

A healthcare provider may need additional information, examinations or an in-person consultation before confirming a diagnosis, treatment plan, price or suitability for treatment.

Information displayed through Heal in Armenia should therefore not be interpreted as a final medical diagnosis or guarantee of treatment.

7. Other circumstances in which information may be shared

We may also disclose information to carefully selected technology and service providers that help us operate the platform, such as hosting, cloud infrastructure, communications, security, analytics, customer support and other operational service providers.

Such providers should receive only the information reasonably necessary to perform their functions and, where required, be subject to contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations.

We may also disclose information where required by applicable law, lawful governmental request, court order or where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety or security of patients, users, Heal in Armenia or others.

We do not sell patients’ medical information.

8. Healthcare provider responsibilities

Healthcare providers receiving patient information through Heal in Armenia are responsible for handling such information in accordance with applicable professional, confidentiality, healthcare and privacy requirements.

Armenian law recognizes medical confidentiality concerning information about a patient’s health and information learned in connection with seeking or receiving medical care.

9. International users and data transfers

Heal in Armenia is intended for international patients. Consequently, information may be processed in Armenia or other countries where our authorized service providers operate.

Privacy and data-protection laws may differ between countries.

Where required by applicable law, we will take appropriate measures relating to international transfers of personal information.

For individuals located in the European Economic Area, GDPR requirements may apply where our activities fall within its territorial scope. GDPR expressly addresses services offered to individuals in the EU by organizations outside the EU.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, destruction or loss.

Withdrawal of consent does not necessarily affect processing lawfully performed before the withdrawal.

Requests may be subject to identity verification and exceptions permitted by applicable law.

13. Cookies and analytics

Heal in Armenia may use cookies and similar technologies necessary to operate the website, maintain sessions, improve security, remember preferences and understand how visitors interact with the platform.

Heal in Armenia is not responsible for the privacy practices, content or security of independent third-party websites. Users should review their applicable privacy policies before providing information directly to them.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform, applicable laws or our practices change.

The current version will be published on our website with an updated “Last Updated” date.
